The Eleanor Mann School of Nursing (EMSON) at the University of Arkansas has four scholarship domains: Person-Centered Care, Healthy Schools, Health Systems and Leadership, and Nursing Education. To accomplish EMSON’s research mission, the Research, Scholarship, Discovery, and Innovation Committee serves as a hub for creating an impactful nursing science by providing consultation to faculty and students to support their research and scholarly activities. Aligned with EMSON’s four scholarship domains, faculty members have implemented an innovative curriculum to prepare practitioners to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care to underserved adults and children in rural Arkansas, conceptually threaded in nursing education and leadership programs. The committee actively promotes meaningful participation and collaboration among faculty, students, and clinical partners to improve health and quality of life among Arkansans and beyond.

Research Programs

Access for Autism is a hybrid program that uses in-person and telehealth appointments to conduct diagnostic evaluations, care management and therapy sessions, including animal-assisted therapy, for children identified with developmental delay or behavioral concerns.
