Research and Innovation

The Eleanor Mann School of Nursing at the University of Arkansas has four scholarship domains: Person-Centered Care, Healthy Schools, Health Systems and Leadership, and Nursing Education. To accomplish EMSON’s research mission, the Research, Scholarship, Discovery, and Innovation Committee serves as a hub for creating an impactful nursing science by providing consultation to faculty and students to support their research and scholarly activities. Aligned with EMSON’s four scholarship domains, faculty members have implemented an innovative curriculum to prepare practitioners to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care to underserved adults and children in rural Arkansas, conceptually threaded in nursing education and leadership programs. The committee actively promotes meaningful participation and collaboration among faculty, students, and clinical partners to improve health and quality of life among Arkansans and beyond.

The Office of Women and Children’s Health promotes healthy lifestyles in the families of Arkansas through collaboration, advocacy, outreach and research.

Research Programs

Access for Autism Research is a community-engaged research program focused on improving autism identification, access to care, and outcomes for autistic children and their families. Current research examines healthcare workforce readiness, caregiver experiences, innovative models of autism care, and the CARE (Canine-Assisted Regulation and Engagement) model for animal-assisted support.
