Admission Requirements
The Master of Nursing Science — Nurse Educator program is designed for baccalaureate-prepared, licensed registered nurses seeking roles in nursing education across academic, clinical and professional practice settings.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for admission
- Completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program
- Hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse
- Have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 on the last 60 undergraduate credits of attempted coursework in previous nursing courses. Admission for candidates with a GPA below 3.0 will require approval from the M.S.N. coordinator
Required Prerequisite Coursework
Applicants must complete the following prior to enrollment:
- A basic health assessment course (academic or continuing education)
- A basic statistics course with a grade of C or higher
Application Materials
All applicants must submit:
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended
- One letter of recommendation
- Participation in an admissions interview
- Evidence of basic computer and library database skills
- GRE is not required and is waived until further notice
Applications are accepted annually from November through January. All applicants are required to attend an interview with M.S.N. faculty as part of the admission process. Courses begin in the summer semester, usually in May.
