We are currently operating on two different admissions cycles.
For students on the 2023 and prior Catalog year the following applies.
The pre-licensure program application for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is accepted between the following dates:
- Fall online applications: Oct. 1 - Oct. 15 (11:59 p.m.)
- Spring applications (please check then): March 1 - March 15 (11:59 p.m.)

Applications are reviewed for admissions to the program for the following academic semester. For example, if you apply Oct. 1, 2023, you are being considered for admissions in the term that begins with the Spring 2024 semester. The program accepts only online applications.

Applications will be accepted online Oct. 1 - Oct. 15 for spring admission or March 1 - March 15 for fall admission.
General Information
Transcripts and transcript credit reports must be submitted before Jan. 1 for spring admission and May 15 for fall admission. Admission is competitive; an overall minimum grade-point average of 3.00 and sophomore standing is required to enroll in pre-nursing courses.
All prerequisite coursework for fall admission into the Professional Program of Study in Nursing should be completed by the end of the same fall semester.
All coursework for spring admission must be completed by the end of the same spring semester. Students who are accepted into the nursing program must maintain a grade of C or above in all courses.

- Review pre-nursing courses with your advisor.
- Review degree audit with your advisor.
- Apply for admission to the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing B.S.N. Program. Applications are to be submitted electronically only. Link is above. No paper applications will be accepted.
- Please carefully read the Arkansas State Board of Nursing’s criminal background check information at ACA 17-3-102 and ACA 17-87-312 (PDFs).
For fall semester EMSON admissions, transcripts must be submitted and processed by the Registrar's Office by May 15. No late summer intersession can be applied to the upcoming fall applicants.
For spring semester EMSON admissions, you must notify your advisor if you are taking a winter intersession course after the application deadline (Oct. 1 – Oct. 15). All transcripts have to be submitted and processed by Jan. 1.
Request that official transcripts from each higher education institution you attended be sent to the University of Arkansas, Office of the Registrar, Silas Hunt Hall, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
If transferring from another nursing program, you must complete the above listed admission requirements. In addition, you must provide the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing with a letter from the nursing program that you are eligible to return to that program and are in good standing and with syllabi from all nursing courses that you have completed.

Admission
Students interested in nursing will be admitted to the university as pre-nursing majors. Admission to the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing requires a separate, multistep application process in alignment with the student's Catalog year.
Candidates will be evaluated with the Casper assessment tool. It is up to each student to be aware of the Casper testing dates and to sign up for a valid test date for their admissions cycle.
In line with the university and the College of Education and Health Professions initiatives, as well as the philosophy of the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, this holistic admission process is utilized to enhance a diverse academic experience for all students and results in additional expertise in providing care to an increasingly diverse patient population. Admission is competitive: Not all students who meet the minimum requirements will get in.

The program accepts applications only through Nursing CAS.

Admission is competitive; an overall minimum grade-point average of 3.5, TEAS exam score of 70 or higher and sophomore standing is required to enroll in pre-nursing courses.

- Complete 29 credit hours of prerequisite coursework. You must have completed all but
one of your science prerequisites, in addition to the 29 credit hours, to be eligible
for admission. All remaining prerequisites must be complete by the end of your first
semester in the nursing program.
- All prerequisites coursework and nursing courses must be completed with a grade of C or above. See catalog for details.
- Apply for admission to the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing B.S.N. Program, according to the deadlines listed above.
- Please carefully read the Arkansas State Board of Nursing’s criminal background check
information at ACA 17-3-102 and ACA 17-87-312 (PDFs).
- It is extremely important that you disclose anything that might appear on your background check at the time of admission. Positive background checks may impact your ability to become a licensed nurse.
- For the spring semester EMSON admissions cycle, transcripts must be submitted to Nursing
CAS by July 15.
- Official transcripts from external universities must also be submitted to the Registrar’s Office by this deadline to be considered by the program. Only summer I course transcripts will be accepted for spring cycles.
- For fall semester EMSON admissions cycle, you must notify your advisor if you are taking a winter intersession course after the application deadline (Nov. 1 - Jan. 15). All transcripts must be submitted by Jan. 15.
- If transferring from another nursing program, you must provide the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing with a letter from your previous nursing program stating that you left in good standing. We reserve the right to request syllabi from any nursing courses you have completed.
- Complete Casper assessment.
- Score valid for two application cycles.
- Complete TEAS exam and report score to Nursing CAS by the deadline.
- Score valid for one year prior to the application deadline.
- Limit of four attempts within a 12-month period.
