Admission Requirements
Application to Prelicensure Traditional On-Campus B.S.N. Program
Applications are reviewed for admission beginning two semesters prior to the anticipated start of nursing courses. For example, if you apply Nov. 1, 2025, during the fall application cycle, you are being considered for admissions in the term that begins with the fall 2026 semester.
The pre-licensure program application for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is accepted between the following dates:
- Applications for Spring 2025 Cycle 1 (March 1-15, 2025) are now closed. Please log in to your NursingCAS account to upload remaining requirements due by May 20, 11:59 p.m. Eastern (10:59 Central)
- Fall applications: Nov. 1 - Jan. 15, following fall start (11:59 p.m. Eastern or 10:59 Central)
- Spring Applications, following spring start: May 1 - July 15 (11:59 p.m. Eastern or 10:59 Central)

General Information
Transcripts, transcript credit reports and TEAS score must be submitted to the Centralized Application Service of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (NursingCAS) by July 15 for spring admission and Jan. 15 for fall admission. Admission is competitive. An overall minimum grade-point average of 3.5, TEAS exam score of 70 or higher, and sophomore standing are required to enroll in pre-nursing courses.

Any additional credits not listed above are not part of the prerequisite GPA.
Checklist
- Apply for admission to the University of Arkansas. The address is Silas Hunt Hall, Fayetteville, AR 72701, or you may apply online for university admission.
- Review pre-nursing courses with your advisor.
- Review degree audit with your advisor.
- Complete 29 credit hours of prerequisite coursework. You must have completed all but
one of your science prerequisites, in addition to the 29 credit hours, to be eligible
for admission. All remaining prerequisites must be complete by the end of your first
semester in the nursing program.
- All prerequisites coursework and nursing courses must be completed with a grade of C or above. See Catalog for details.
- Apply for admission to the Eleanor Mann of Nursing B.S.N. Program through NursingCAS. Deadlines and application link listed by cycle above.
- You must use your --------@uark.edu school email address for your application.
- Please carefully read the Arkansas State Board of Nursing’s criminal background check
information at ACA 17-3-102 and ACA 17-87-312 (PDFs).
- It is extremely important that you disclose anything that might appear on your background check at the time of admission. Positive background checks may impact your ability to become a licensed nurse.
- For the spring semester EMSON admissions cycle, transcripts must be submitted to NursingCAS
by July 15.
- Official transcripts from external universities also must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office by this deadline to be considered by the program. Only summer I course transcripts will be accepted for spring cycles.
- For fall semester EMSON admissions cycle, you must notify your advisor if you are taking a winter intersession course after the application deadline (Nov. 1 - Jan. 15). All transcripts must be submitted by Jan. 15.
- If transferring from another nursing program, you must provide the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing with a letter from your previous nursing program stating that you left in good standing. We reserve the right to request syllabi from any nursing courses you have completed.
- Complete Casper assessment.
- Students need to have a current test score per application cycle. Timing of the test
depends on when students apply.
- The September 2024-February 2025 Casper cycle corresponds with the May 2025 EMSON application.
- The August 2025-February 2026 Casper cycle corresponds with the November 2025 and May 2026 EMSON applications.
- Score valid for one Casper cycle which is determined by Altus Assessments.
- Students need to have a current test score per application cycle. Timing of the test
depends on when students apply.
- Complete TEAS exam and report score to NursingCAS by the deadline.
- Choose Online exam with ATI Remote Proctor – Nursing.
- Score valid for one calendar year prior to the application deadline.
- Limit of four attempts within a 12-month period.
